SPEEDY OUTFIELDER RETURNS
The New Jersey Jackals have announced the signing of outfielder Ryan Rogowski for the 2010 season.
Rogowski excelled in 74 games for the Jackals in the 2009 season. Ryan had a .282 batting average with 11 doubles, six triples and four home runs with 32 RBI. He also dominated on the base path with 28 stolen bases while only getting caught six times. Rogowski also appeared in the Can-Am League leaders where he finished second in triples and second in stolen bases.
“It’s so good to return to the Jackals.” Stated Ryan Rogowski. “With the way I finished the [2009] season, there was no way mentally or physically I wanted to retire. I’m looking forward to returning and finish what we started and bring home the championship.”
Rogowski, 28, split the 2008 season between the Single-A Inland Empire 66ers and the Double-A Jacksonville Suns in the Los Angeles Dodgers system. Rogowski, a native of Livonia, Michigan, stole 37 bases last year to bring his career total to 106. The University of Illinois alumnus sports a career .266 batting average with 20 triples and 11 home runs in three professional seasons.
“We’re extremely excited to have Ryan back for the 2010 season.” Commented manager Joe Calfapietra. “Ryan is an outstanding outfielder that is a menace on the basepath. We are hoping Ryan excels again in 2010.”
The New Jersey Jackals, proud members of the Canadian-American Association of Professional Baseball, play their home games at Yogi Berra Stadium located on the campus of Montclair State University in Little Falls, NJ. 2009 season tickets, mini-plans and group outings are available by calling 973-746-7434.
