EX-MAJOR LEAGUER JOINS JACKALS MIDDLE INFIELD

Little Falls, NJ – The New Jersey Jackals have announced the signing of former Major League infielder Enrique Cruz for the 2010 season.

Cruz, 28, played 60 games for the Milwaukee Brewers in 2003 where he played most of his time as a defensive replacement. In 2007, Cruz returned to the Major League with the Cincinnati Reds when he played 6 in games as a defensive replacement. Cruz last played professionally in the 2008 season.

“We are extremely excited to have Enrique for the 2010 season.” Commented Manager Joe Calfapietra. “He will be a great addition to the team and we hope his experience in the Major League will translate into leadership in the clubhouse.”

Cruz has nine seasons of minor league experience in his career. In the nine seasons, Cruz has a career .266 batting average with 12 triples, 76 home runs and 126 stolen bases. His best season was in 2005 with the Huntsville Stars, the Double-A affiliate of the Milwaukee Brewers. In 137 games, Cruz had a .300 batting average with three triples and 14 home runs.
